Nicolette Mireles, LCPC

Co-Founder & Psychotherapist

Welcome! I am so glad you’re here.

Life can be incredibly beautiful and it can also be pretty tough sometimes. You don’t always have an influence over what happens to you, but you do have a choice in what you do next. My role as a therapist is to help you navigate life’s challenges by focusing on what you can do to make meaningful shifts in your thinking or your behaviors.

I am fully committed to providing an inclusive, safe, and LGBTQIA+-affirming space for everyone. I love helping folks improve both their relationships with others and their relationship with themselves. Whether you are navigating traditional paths or diverse relationship dynamics, you are welcome here. My hope is to support individuals through all types of lived experiences as they learn to love themselves and others more.
My holistic practice draws from evidence-based psychology as well as earth-based wisdom and nature’s rhythms to help you ground your mind and body. I emphasize various components of health, including: engagement with nature, movement practices, nutrition, sleep, and social connection to help you move towards a happier, healthier, more vibrant version of yourself. YOU define what that looks like, and we work together to make it a reality. Compassion and non-judgment are key components of my work.  I enjoy helping folks uncover and heal the roots of challenging thoughts, feelings, and behaviors so they can find joy a life uniquely tailored to their own values, free from societal expectations. I draw from contemporary advances in the neuroscience of emotions and trauma to help clients better understand the mind-body connection and its utility in coping. I utilize trauma informed practices including DBT, CBT and ACT to help facilitate change. I always aim to bring my full authentic self to our sessions as I believe true genuine connection is a key component of meaningful change.
I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology at Northern Illinois University.  I then attended St. Xavier University where I earned my Masters Degree in Community Agency Counseling.  Over the past 17 years in practice, I have worked in a wide array of organizations including: non-profits, residential facilities, and group private practices.
Outside of the office, you will find me: appreciating nature via hiking, running, climbing, kayaking, finding magic in the changing seasons, cooking new recipes, crafting something, hugging a tree (actually), reading psychological thrillers, snuggling my dogs, or seeking out new and strange food experiences.  I love spending time with my family, chosen family, and friends  as I believe human connection and memory making are precious gifts.
